Studies show that parent involvement has a direct affect on student achievement. Although parent involvement can be achieved in a number of different ways, one form is the communication between parents/guardians and the school system. With the demands on time and resources to increase one on one communication with parents, a teacher website can help in equalizing the responsibility of establishing on-going communication between school and home.
In the Bismarck Public School District, teachers can now choose to be responsible for updating a teacher website and contacting parents concerning information relevant to a particular student while parents can have the option of checking the teacher website or PowerSchool periodically for any information such as up-coming class projects or activities, subject skills taught, online resources for parents and students, assignment scores, lunch balances and other relevant information to their child.
Teachers or classrooms who are developing their pages and are available online are listed to the left.
If you do not see your child's teacher you can always find their contact information from the Staff Directory.
Note: Please be patient, as this is a new resource for teachers and staff. Many teachers are in the process of developing their classroom pages. Teachers may elect to have a classroom page, but may not have their site online yet. Please return often to see page additions and changes!
